Collision Learning And Direct Learning

Wow.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here.

Time really does fly.

In this audio post, I want to discuss the 2 forms of learning and experience that have shaped my journey and how they’ve contributed to my life and story.

I call the 2 forms:

  1. Direct Learning
  2. Collision Learning

The Rings Of Relationship

There are many different types of relationships that support our lives and stories.

There’s the relationship with ourselves first and foremost.

But what I call The Human Game, The Human Experience, or The Human Story is a team sport for the most part, and so we also have relationships called family, acquaintances or bit players, friends, and romantic partnerships.

All these relationships form what I call “The Rings Of Relationship” which rotate through our lives and stories.

The audio you can play below or download will introduce you to how I see The Rings Of Relationship.

Risky is The New Safe

I don’t normally devote blog posts to book recommendations, but I have one for you today.

It’s not a book on spiritual or personal development, however.

It has nothing to do with Busting Loose, the tools, Truth, Consciousness, or The Teachings I normally discuss.

But it has important content regardless … from a more “mainstream” or “earthbound” perspective.

It was written by my friend Randy Gage and is called Risky Is The New Safe.

Randy asked me for an endorsement quote for the book. This is what I wrote and how I feel about it:

“I divide learning into 2 categories: Direct Learning and Collision Learning. Direct learning is when someone says ‘X’ to you and ‘X’ is valuable. Collision Learning is when someone says ‘X’ to you, ‘X’ makes you think of ‘Y’ and ‘Y’ is valuable to you.

Randy’s book offers HUGE opportunities for both forms of learning (which is rare) on topics that are absolutely critical at this point in history. I recommend it highly.”

This is a different kind of book for a different kind of thinking.  It’s a thought-provoking manifesto for risk takers.

Disruptive technology, accelerating speed of change, and economic upheaval are sweeping through what I call “Story Space.”  The old ways of thinking and doing things don’t work like they once did. There’s an opportunity for something new and Randy offers some fascinating and compelling suggestions.

Like me, Randy is a renegade who dares to fly in the face of “the same-old-same-old” with aggressiveness and force, so be prepared for that!
